Portfolio - Future

I feel scared for how the future will unfold. When I am done with high school I would want to be excepted to a 4 year college due to great grades and awesome learning skills. Either I would want to go to college for performing arts, helping kids, or massage therapy. During the time I was growing up I was entered in different dancing and singing activities for a long time. This has helped me to prepare and get the practice I need for the future. I will continue to work on things that might have a great effect on what I will do later in life. 

Portfolio - Improvement

Over the past two years, I have improved in certain sections of schoolwork. I had great writing skills due to the fact that my teachers would encourage me to do better, and/or if I asked for help.  My level of reading was taken more seriously throughout middle school because I would have to read out loud to the classroom. This helped me to be more comfortable as I read. I will continue to take more action in what needs to be done to improve my grade for the next two years.

Portfolio - My Educational Experiences

Due to my educational experiences, currently I have a better understanding of organization. Throughout my elementary career I was required to have a neat binder that was divided by each subject. I learned to become more independent by putting classwork papers in their correct section of my binder. As a sophomore in high school I feel I meet the standards of an organized student. With hard work an determination you can learn to meet a great goal.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle

An obstacle that has a hold on me is having  a bold approach to the judge about an important issue. When my sister and I were in a foster home in Ramona my Freshman year, it was hard to talk about the things that carried on around the house. My foster mom would get out of hand with a slight drinking issue every now and then. We decided that we couldn't handle it anymore, and that the verbal abuse and the fact that we took care of her while she was under the influence was not okay. The judge asked us questions and we answered them honestly, or our thoughts were brought to the judge. When the drinking toned down a little bit, we felt more comfortable around our surroundings and less stressed. This past experience helped me become more mature and smart on how I should approach certain situations.

Academic Language Week 38 - Video Games in School Curriculum

Video games should be used in school curriculum. One reason is becasue the ASPECT of school is to learn and this is a great way of showing so. Another reason is because it  motivates the kids into doing their work better. Additionally, if the game FEATURES an education lesson to it, it should be appropiate for school. In conclusion, students should not be CONSEQUENCED for using video games, it should be a learning tool.

Changes Since Freshman Year

When I was a freshman, I was more motivated in my work. Now, I am less motivated due to the place I am at. For example, I think I had a better chance of getting looked at by great colleges at my public shooling last year. In addition, I need to remember that I should try hard everywhere I go, because somplace, somewhere, I will get looked at by many colleges. By my senior year, I hope to be accepted by a university, a performing arts school, or a massage trade school.

Academic Language Week 37 - Unhealthy Meal Choices

The fast food industry should not be allowed to target kids with unhealthy meal choices. One reason is that kids are not aware what is entering their bodies. Another reason is because specialists THEORY is that most children in the U.S are obese due to the fact of unhealthy meal choices. Additionally, dieting choices that we chose today will catch up to them in the future. In conclusion, kids should not be targeted by the kids meal SECTIONS  because it leads to problems as an adult.

SPA Policy Blog Paragraph

One policy that I wished could be changed is the timely schedule we have for everything. Currently this policy states that we need to be directed in everything we do. One reason it should be changed is because it gets boring and old after a while doing the same 'ol thing everyday. Also, I would like to feel like I can be responsible and decide what times are good for me to do what I need to do. If this policy was changed I would feel more dependent on myself and what I need to get done.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Sweatshops are a violation of peoples humans rights. One reason is because people should not have to APPLY their survice to a work place that treats them horribly. Another reason is because the kids that would have to work into sweatshops would be a form of horrible child LABOR. In conclusion, I believe that people should not do things that are forced upon them and what they don't want to do.

My career goal is to become a Masseuse. This job involves physical soothing to another human beings body to relax their muscles and mind. I want to do this because I want to make people feel good physically and mentally. I will achieve this goal by reading books on the subject, paying attention in school, asking former masseuse for their advice, and staying focused. Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

Cell phones should not be allowed in schools. One reason is because, it will PERSUADE kids to focus more on them, then more on their classwork. another reason is because, when the teachers CRITIQUE you how well you focus in class would be involved. Additionally, you can CONTRAST the kids that use their cell phones to the kids that don't and see a great amount of difference in their work. in conclusion, students should not be able to use cellular devices in school.

Prom 2012 Blog Post

When we arrived at Sea World I thought that I was going to break my ankles because my heals were hearting me so bad king of how nice it was for these people to put this all together for the students of S.P.A. During diner, I kind of  didn't know what to do so I just picked a table and sat at it, I also took pictures. While I was danceing I had a good time, and it brought my spirit really up. By the end of the night, I sang songs the whole way home. THE END.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

American students are falling behind academically compared to students in other countries. One reason is because over a million American students who enter ninth grade will fail to graduate. Another reason is that when COMPARED to other countries, the DATA showed that a large majority of our nation's studetns are not reading at grade level. Additionally,  about a quarter of America students did not show competency in the science or math RANGE. In conlusion, Americans are not academically on the same level as other countries.

Academic Language Week 32 - Exit Exam

A student should have to pass a exit exam in order to earn a high school diploma. One reason is because, it shows how students DISTRIBUTE their effort. Another reason is to make sure that thee education of the student was able to OBTAIN what they were taught.  Additionaly this will let people kow how many things VARY in the world and education. In conclusion, students should meet certain requirments to show their skills in what they have been taught in school.  

Academic Language Week 31 - Teen Vandals

Parents of teen vandals should not be held responsible for their child's damage. One reason is because the kids are SPECIFICALLY their own person. Another reason is because the kids need to learn responsibility. Additionally, if kids get put with responsibility then they'll learn from their mistakes and actually ACHIEVE in life. In addition, I believe that parents shouldn't be held with discipline for their child's faults.

Academic Language Week 30 - "D" Grades

Schools should not eliminate "D" grades. One reason is that children might feel as if their confidence will drop, and their lack of effort would increase. Another reason is that when children need help, they might not know how to INTERACT with others. INITIALLY, there will be more students with F's and they'll have less of a chance to COMPENSATE for the grade. These are some examples why I believe schools should count "D" grades.

Parents should not face jail time for missing their child's school conference. One reason is because parents can SEEK information that was given in a conference from another RESOURCE. Another reason is that the kids might not have a parent  to turn to for their problems. Additionally if the parents were to get put in jail they would not be able to TRANSFER care and love with their family. In conclusion, parents should not be put away for not attending a childs meeting.

Trayvon Martin Paragraph

George Zimmerman should be charged with murder for shooting Trayvon Martin. For example, Trayvon had nothing in his posession that would have harmed him. This shows that, Zimmererman has no evidence and proof that Martin was a threat. This also shows that he wasn't doing that well of a job watching the neighborhood when he's the one doing crime in it. Additionally a racist slur was made by Zimmerman when the crime was committed. This shows that he had every intension to not feel guilty for what he know what he did was wrong. It is important for teenagers to follow this story because you should always watch your surroundings and be aware of the people you live around.

Academic Week 28 GPS Truant Students

Global Positioning System (GPS) devices should not be required for habitually truant students. One reason is because if the students aren't a certain age then the CONDUCT  of that person wold be differenet. Also the school ADMINISTERS would be giving the child lack of privacy. The governments ELEMENT of the use of money would not be neccessary. So therefore, GPS devices would not be neccessary for kids that are fluently truant.

Academic Language Week 27 - Drug-Sniffing Dogs

School officals do not have the right to use drug sniffing drogs to search the school. One reason is that the school might feel as if the drug dog company is AMUSING that their school might contain drugs. Another reason is that  the students might RESPOND to the dogs with an allergic reaction.  Additionally it can be a overwhelming PROCESS for the kids. In conclusion drug sniffing should not be necassary in schol officals eyes.

Testing Thoughts Paragraph

I feel nervous on taking the exam tommarow because I feel like they would throw new things at us.  I know that I have to study very hard, but not to hard.  I am a little concerned that I might not get that high of a grade.  I am confident that I'll try my best. When I get my scores back from the cahsee I hope I'm satisfied.

Academic Language Week 25 - Concealed Handguns

Adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun. One reason is because a person wouldn't want to be ESTABLISHED to trouble when they can easily get their way out of it. Another reason is to JUSTIFY the fact that when you run into a serious situation you might need that extra support to help you carry on with your issue. In conclusion when adults have possesion of a gun, it could always be for the safest outcome.

Technology in School Paragraph

Teachers use technology to help me get ready. For example in sixth grade my teacher would make us type all of our essays on the computer. It helped because we at least had experience on paper and on the computer.  Also in freshman year, my teacher taught a complete tech class and she made use write notes to not forget the things we do and learn on the computer. It helped because when I was in front of the computer the next time and needed help I could easily look at my helpful notes. In addition, in my sophomore year, my teacher made and still makes use do every single assignment on the computer, no pencils needed. It helps me because I know a lot of my classes are going to be like this in college so I'm just getting very good practice. Future teachers can help their students by letting them write, use technology, and talking time with them.

Academic Language Week 24 - Online Learning

Online learning is not a great way to educate students. When the student needs help from the teacher, teachers will not be there to help anyone CLARIFY their answer. In certain AREAS students might downgrade by computer use. Teachers have a tough time DIFFERENTIATING how good the students work really is. Learning online will not help kids get a better education.

Academic Language Week 23 - Dog Fighting

Dog fighting should not be allowed.  Dogs have DISTINCT awareness of their actions therefore they should not participate in such activities.  Having dogs in fights exposes them to great POTENTIAL to have wounds.  By not making this action illegal FORMULATES that people will continue to hurt these dogs.  These are some reasons why dogs should not participate in fights.

This poem is called "A Blessing" by James Wright. This poem helped me learn more about imagery because it gave me a lot of good exapmles on being prepared to write a poem using all of the technical uses that are supposed to be in a poem.

Academic Language Week 21 - Steroids

I dont think performance enhancing drugs should be allowed  because steroids are PRIMARILY unhealthy for your body when men and women abuse the use of steroids it throws off their testosterone levels which opens a wide range of problems through out the body. There are many unsafe side effects and unwanted side effects such as acne,  roid rage , liver problems , prostate cancer etc. Everyone will have the same skill it will take out the TRADITION , challenge and the entertainments of all sports. When you use steroids for a long PERIOD of time and you want to stop it will cause more problems then before. These are some reasons why steroids should not be allowed in sports.

Academic Language Week 22 - Felons Voting

I think felons should  be allowed to vote because everyone has a right to freedom of speech and because criminals still exist and still live in this COMPLEXED  world that we all live in, felons not voting could make a huge impact in our lifes and theirs too. Just because their imprisoned doesnt mean they're not RELEVANT to our society. They can feel a SOURCE of independence everyone makes mistakes and them not vote is a mistake where all going to have to suffer with not just them .This is why I think felons should be allowed to vote.

My goal for the second semester of 2011-2012 school year is stsying on task and doing my homework every night. I selected this goal because I believe last year this was a major affect on my grades. First-Person Narration from Lapiphinie

I got on the bus and prepared my self for a unforgettable time ,to embrace myself to pig out. Even though I got a little car sick on the bus I was looking forward to the food. Then finally we arrived at our destination, I was so amazed with all of the decorations and beauty of the place. There were booths ,people, bright lights, pictures, food, and of coarse Quentin Jammer and his family. Everyone seemed so friendly and careful. I really came to the fact to notice that these people do these things for us out of the kindness of their hearts, not because they have to.

They seemed a little happy that they’d all be getting off campus. Peruasive Essay

Hygiene for teens is very important because it reflects your character. People who have poor hygiene are less likely to be responsible. I believe that students at SPA should take action in their hygiene skills. This is so because I wouldn't want to walk around with people judging me on how I don’t care of myself.

  Hygiene is important because it helps maintain a healthy and sanitary environment. Studies have shown that kids that keep themselves clean have a less risk of getting sick. If you do things such as; wash your hands, cover your mouth when you coughing and sneezing then you should be fine. Some people also believe that hygiene products can affect the way your body naturally carries itself. Furthermore students will notice the change of greasiness in their hair. Going through different types of hormones for the teen body will happen drastically, and they might not notice the changes right away. It is important to wash yourself and  know the right things to do when it comes to great hygiene skills.

  Bad hygiene will drive people away from you. This causes you to see a change in your friends and the way they feel about you. They will notice the way you start to carry yourself, and smell of course. Although some bad smells attract peoples senses. People that are raised on barns will be use to bad odor. If your around a smell for a while it grows on you. You wouldn’t want someone to always be there for you, you would not want to drive them away because of your stench.

 Teens who have bad hygiene are most likely to not have as many friends. The outcome of this will cause the relationship between family, friends and loved ones to end. You will come off physically and emotionally different. On a good not the friends that are pushed away from you can be a bad influence. Things they may do will get in the habit of your character. know that proper hygiene will not only help you, but also with your social status.

 Students of San Pasqual Academy need to learn to control their hygiene skills. You would not want your peer to walk around and not knowing that they’re being judged. This action would affect the way people feel and look at your character. Not being able to take care of yourself reflects off of the person you are and how responsible you handle things. You, yourself will soon notice changes and so will others. When having hygiene issues make sure the area around you is clean. Also don’t miss days of taking a shower, even make a routine if it helps. Make note to do things such as; wash your hair, and wash your hands. When sick cover your mouth if needed and keep your areas sanitized.

Narritive Final Draft

Biographical Narrative

Renee’s impression of a British accent is by far the best I’ve ever heard. When I met her this is what made her stand out. When she knows I am in a bad mood or am upset, she uses these goofy accents to cheer me up. Renee she is the lead staff of Girls 6. Not only is she silly but she is quick to help someone out with a problem. Renee is easygoing, yet she understands most situations. She can also be strict at times, but for good reasons. Renee tries her best to meet everyone’s  needs. She does so by making sure their problems are solved.    

 

When I was in my house one Saturday night after I had just came home from the beach. I was so surprised when me, Renee, and the house were all goofing around and having fun, Renee was helping me work on my homework for English. She came out of nowhere and shocked me with those words,”You got me so messed up.” I felt as if she was a fun person and had great ways to relate to us. My housemates felt this way as well. We could not stop talking about it the whole night, it was the topic of the night.

On a Saturday evening at Belmont Park Renee was very bold, by the way she showed her pride in letting a boy know what my sisters thoughts were about him. My sister thought that this boy was really cute, he had green eyes and a nice beach body. Renee decided to let him know.! I was there laughing of embarrassment for my sister, pig snorts even came out. This action that Renee did just let me know she can relate to our age, and handle it in a nice way. I now know that I should never tell Renee when I think a guy is cute.    

A day after school in Girls 6, a little after community meeting was over. Someone did not want to checkout so the house can go on an outing. Some people in our house, including me were very frustrated that people could be so selfish and don’t ever take time to think about others. By this happening, she seem to handle this situation in a very fashionable way. Thisshowed me that Renee can get any tension in the house away. Any time I’m feeling sad or down, I can always count on Renee to help me, and get me through the day.

 I have become more understandable about certain situations. Renee is charismatic she can relate to me very well, and I feel like I can come to her with anything. My feelings are strong for what Renee does for me, she cares. These stories I’ve shared with you are things that  I hope can let you know more about Renee.
