Academic Language Week 38 - Video Games in School Curriculum

Video games should be used in school curriculum. One reason is becasue the ASPECT of school is to learn and this is a great way of showing so. Another reason is because it  motivates the kids into doing their work better. Additionally, if the game FEATURES an education lesson to it, it should be appropiate for school. In conclusion, students should not be CONSEQUENCED for using video games, it should be a learning tool.

Academic Language Week 37 - Unhealthy Meal Choices

The fast food industry should not be allowed to target kids with unhealthy meal choices. One reason is that kids are not aware what is entering their bodies. Another reason is because specialists THEORY is that most children in the U.S are obese due to the fact of unhealthy meal choices. Additionally, dieting choices that we chose today will catch up to them in the future. In conclusion, kids should not be targeted by the kids meal SECTIONS  because it leads to problems as an adult.

Academic Language Week 35 - Sweatshops

Sweatshops are a violation of peoples humans rights. One reason is because people should not have to APPLY their survice to a work place that treats them horribly. Another reason is because the kids that would have to work into sweatshops would be a form of horrible child LABOR. In conclusion, I believe that people should not do things that are forced upon them and what they don't want to do.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

Cell phones should not be allowed in schools. One reason is because, it will PERSUADE kids to focus more on them, then more on their classwork. another reason is because, when the teachers CRITIQUE you how well you focus in class would be involved. Additionally, you can CONTRAST the kids that use their cell phones to the kids that don't and see a great amount of difference in their work. in conclusion, students should not be able to use cellular devices in school.

Academic Language Week 33 - American Students

American students are falling behind academically compared to students in other countries. One reason is because over a million American students who enter ninth grade will fail to graduate. Another reason is that when COMPARED to other countries, the DATA showed that a large majority of our nation's studetns are not reading at grade level. Additionally,  about a quarter of America students did not show competency in the science or math RANGE. In conlusion, Americans are not academically on the same level as other countries.

Academic Language Week 32 - Exit Exam

A student should have to pass a exit exam in order to earn a high school diploma. One reason is because, it shows how students DISTRIBUTE their effort. Another reason is to make sure that thee education of the student was able to OBTAIN what they were taught.  Additionaly this will let people kow how many things VARY in the world and education. In conclusion, students should meet certain requirments to show their skills in what they have been taught in school.  

Academic Language Week 31 - Teen Vandals

Parents of teen vandals should not be held responsible for their child's damage. One reason is because the kids are SPECIFICALLY their own person. Another reason is because the kids need to learn responsibility. Additionally, if kids get put with responsibility then they'll learn from their mistakes and actually ACHIEVE in life. In addition, I believe that parents shouldn't be held with discipline for their child's faults.

Academic Language Week 30 - "D" Grades

Schools should not eliminate "D" grades. One reason is that children might feel as if their confidence will drop, and their lack of effort would increase. Another reason is that when children need help, they might not know how to INTERACT with others. INITIALLY, there will be more students with F's and they'll have less of a chance to COMPENSATE for the grade. These are some examples why I believe schools should count "D" grades.

Academic Language Week 29 - School Conferences

Parents should not face jail time for missing their child's school conference. One reason is because parents can SEEK information that was given in a conference from another RESOURCE. Another reason is that the kids might not have a parent  to turn to for their problems. Additionally if the parents were to get put in jail they would not be able to TRANSFER care and love with their family. In conclusion, parents should not be put away for not attending a childs meeting.

Academic Language Week 27 - Drug-Sniffing Dogs

School officals do not have the right to use drug sniffing drogs to search the school. One reason is that the school might feel as if the drug dog company is AMUSING that their school might contain drugs. Another reason is that  the students might RESPOND to the dogs with an allergic reaction.  Additionally it can be a overwhelming PROCESS for the kids. In conclusion drug sniffing should not be necassary in schol officals eyes.

Academic Language Week 25 - Concealed Handguns

Adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun. One reason is because a person wouldn't want to be ESTABLISHED to trouble when they can easily get their way out of it. Another reason is to JUSTIFY the fact that when you run into a serious situation you might need that extra support to help you carry on with your issue. In conclusion when adults have possesion of a gun, it could always be for the safest outcome.

Academic Language Week 24 - Online Learning

Online learning is not a great way to educate students. When the student needs help from the teacher, teachers will not be there to help anyone CLARIFY their answer. In certain AREAS students might downgrade by computer use. Teachers have a tough time DIFFERENTIATING how good the students work really is. Learning online will not help kids get a better education.

Academic Language Week 23 - Dog Fighting

Dog fighting should not be allowed.  Dogs have DISTINCT awareness of their actions therefore they should not participate in such activities.  Having dogs in fights exposes them to great POTENTIAL to have wounds.  By not making this action illegal FORMULATES that people will continue to hurt these dogs.  These are some reasons why dogs should not participate in fights.

Academic Language Week 21 - Steroids

I dont think performance enhancing drugs should be allowed  because steroids are PRIMARILY unhealthy for your body when men and women abuse the use of steroids it throws off their testosterone levels which opens a wide range of problems through out the body. There are many unsafe side effects and unwanted side effects such as acne,  roid rage , liver problems , prostate cancer etc. Everyone will have the same skill it will take out the TRADITION , challenge and the entertainments of all sports. When you use steroids for a long PERIOD of time and you want to stop it will cause more problems then before. These are some reasons why steroids should not be allowed in sports.

Academic Language Week 22 - Felons Voting

I think felons should  be allowed to vote because everyone has a right to freedom of speech and because criminals still exist and still live in this COMPLEXED  world that we all live in, felons not voting could make a huge impact in our lifes and theirs too. Just because their imprisoned doesnt mean they're not RELEVANT to our society. They can feel a SOURCE of independence everyone makes mistakes and them not vote is a mistake where all going to have to suffer with not just them .This is why I think felons should be allowed to vote.

Academic Language Week 13 - Video Games

I think that violent games do not contribute to youth violence. Parents INTERPRET their kids actions and what they do all the time. The kids might have enough tolerence and are able to play a game, knowing their place in actual life. Another reson is that when kids invovle themselves in a game they have common sense in what games to pick. These are some reasons why I think that kids don;t get effected by violent video games.

Academic Language Week 11 - Health Care

Yes, I feel all Americans should have the right to free health care. Well to SUMMARIZE it, they might not have money. The EVIDENCE that people have for getting this treatment more easily is the fact that they're born here. The biggest ISSUE that people have are that they are more immune to the heatlh here, so when it comes up, It'll be easier to handle. These are some reasons why I feel as if America should have free health care. 

Academic Language Week 5 - Vaccinations

I think vaccinations should be required for all children. This is so because, if parents really ESTIMATE the POSITIVE things that it can do for kids in the futre for thier health then it really should'nt be a problem. Also parents should ILLUSTRATE out the things that could come out of what there putting their kids through. This is why I believe that kids should be vaccinated, to keep and maintain their health.
